Inspired by the bride's flowers and colors for her wedding, this 3-tiered display wedding cake features cream colored fondant layers with purple fondant ribbon at each base, royal icing painted swirls, and a sugar hydrangea, stephanotis, and rose bouquet topper at the top tier.
A display cake means it is made with a styrofoam base without any cake. Display cakes are a great idea for good photo ops and the cake designer has more time to work on the design since there is no need to worry about the cake going bad! It is also a
lot easy to transport and can sit out in hot weather and not melt!I also made a matching 6" cake for the bride and groom to cut into for the cake cutting ceremony. Additional sheet cakes were made to serve all the guests. The cakes were deep chocolate cake w/chocolate buttercream, and white cake w/lemon cream cheese frosting.
